The engine is being reloaded, but what on earth did you use the "horizontally opposed engine"?

The Citroen 2CV, whose first model was released in 1949, continued to be sold while undergoing model changes, and ended its long model life by ending production at the Portuguese factory in 1990.However, there are still many enthusiasts who continue to ride the 2CV, fascinated by its rational design, good ride quality, and adorable styling.

The video introduced here is a recording of Alex de Fris, who loves 2CV Kai Hill Climber, running in 2CV Kai. The first 2CV was an air-cooled horizontally opposed 2-cylinder 375cc, but later expanded to 425cc and 602cc. Even the largest 602cc version had a maximum output of around 30 horsepower, which was not a high output to compliment.

Alex's 2CV Kai has transshipped its heart to that of the BMW R1200GS, and is also combined with a Danish Rotrex centrifugal supercharger. As a result, the maximum output has increased to 154 horsepower! The output has been improved by about 5 times from the original 2CV.

 

The cabin is reinforced with roll bars, but the doors of the slapstick, the canvas top, the thin steering wheel, the flat glass, etc., are familiar views of Citroen 2CV. The 4-speed gearbox that twists left and right and pushes and pulls back and forth is also the original!

The gearbox is standard !? I'm a little surprised!

 

Perhaps judging from the appearance, the base is the "2CV Bamboo" that was sold exclusively in the UK / Ireland from 1987 to 1988? The BMW R1200GS air-water-cooled 4-stroke horizontally opposed 2-cylinder to be installed. The maximum output of 1,169cc is 125 horsepower in stock.

It's a combination of a lightweight body weighing only 660 kg and a 154 horsepower BMW horizontally opposed + supercharger, so its running is quite Kyoretsu! What is surprising is that the gearbox remains the 2CV original 4-speed. I'm surprised that a gearbox of around 30 horsepower can be combined with a power unit of 154 horsepower.
